Fortune favors the bold.
Why even be concerned for what people you will never meet again think of you?
Years in retail taught me that the people that get what they want do so by making your life hell until you give them whatever it is, so give the bastards hell and you'll find they will bend to your whim over enduring more hell. -
We all get what we deserve eventually, no one escapes that final reflection on their life where they determine if it was all worth it or not.
Thankfully retribution is something they handle themselves usually and we need not be intruding into that process for it to unfold. -
Calling the cops isn't cool and will only excite them to bother you more, people get vindicative over that and the truth is, we only need to involve the armed group of frustrated hall monitor bullies if physically endangered without a means of self defence. There are more important things for them to do than tell college idiots to shut up and potentially put some in jail (been there before? Even if not, this never solves anything anyway just gives the state a new means of milking people out of money with no benefit to you really)
What worked for me in SF with Swiss neighbors that threw the most annoying parties was put on "Surfing Bird" for 18 hours at full volume on the Roku attached to the TV and when I finally turned it off, they were silent, then the next week moved out. Lawyers call that "self help" -
This is stress to you?
To me, a grown man without much in terms of festiveness, I would be hesitant to even dress up and go out given the holiday is meant for children not me.
Why stress yourself out with the most arbitrary variant of socially boasting by fixating on the thing? You'll be fine to miss out on this one. -
Life doesn't suck in general because this moment seems to suck. That's an over generalization with highly negative consequences if allowed to run free.
Life is hard, you just have to get harder. I've spent nights in the last year sleeping in bus stops, then been harassed the next day by the police who take the crime of being homeless a little too serious in the town I've been in recently. Once the detainment is over, I don't whine about it to anyone, I'm happy to avoid county jail then let it go so I can move forward since time isn't going to wait for me to get my two minutes hate out of my system. Go to Starbucks, work on some code and charge my phone, check my rejection emails and see if I can wrangle a night at motel 6 somehow. Not saying I'm so hard or anything really, but what I've learned is that fixating on the suck just makes it all suck more. -
You can take the kid out of the controlling, toxic environment but you can never take the controlling, toxic environment out of the kid.

Yeah this is a really easy one once you appreciate a simple fact that makes people hiss whenever I point it out but:
Your mind is reacting to the fact that for most of human history doing the very minimal amount of physical labor necessary to survive in post-modernity would have meant certain death come winter time.
And no, isolating muscles at the gym isn't actual physical labor your body expects, consider what picking crops would be like. Your whole body is involved and a day of it makes you knock out when you sit down.
Personally, I walk my groceries home from the supermarket and take my dog on 3 hour walks to alleviate this and it works like a charm. Yard work, remodeling (if possible where you live), hauling everything you own in suitcases between hotels all worked well too to combat my severe apricity that characterized my teens and early 20s. -
We are all uncertain of such, anyone saying anything else is either a fool or up to no good. The future belongs to no one and is unwritten. Other than I can tell you what is next will always be next, tomorrow.

Lord Shiva, He teaches one lessons in humility and Lord Ganesha Who removes obstacles.
Linux is the art of accepting that most of the time, it's something you did wrong and trying again and again without surrendering to it hence the specific type who ends up a Linux guru is by nature stubborn to the point of powering through the penguin's many frustrations.
Like all Gurus, Tux can be kind or exceedingly cruel in teaching you how to achieve computing salvation, roll with the punches and scour the internet for related problems and you'll be wise in the wily ways of Linux like Linus himself soon enough. -
Usually feeling that way is a bad sign, trust me I've been there and paid in blood for the trip. It implies a certain amount of coordinated and conscious effort is being used to affect you as such. If it's not just that early rush of falling in love that after a few times will also give you pause as you always pay in pounds of flesh for each time you fall in love.
If feeling so strong are stirring in your soul, take a step back and reflect on its source and effects overall if you can. Passion is great in life but in interpersonal relationships it's a double edged sword and often the bait that lures you into a trap you might otherwise see more clearly. -
@johnmelodyme ouch you have androids but opt for iOS instead.
If you also have other apple products, this would make sense and all, they integrate well together and I do get that.
Just on my personal device, my love of tinkering (rooting, custom ROMs, custom kernels, magisk modules) takes control and using apple would be a bleak, but ultimately functional I'm sure, change to my present freedom to change substantial aspects of my phone while I await some alternative (maybe Linux phones won't suck but I'm not holding my breath) -
Maybe it's saying to use Android instead.🤷
Keyboard freedom means a lot (even if I still always install GBoard), home screen alternatives enhance my productivity something fierce and we haven't even gotten into rooting and custom ROMs. -
When nervous I compulsively chew my finger nails off.
Already having a neurological disorder that often means being assumed to be high on drugs due to TD like movements, especially by hiring managers.
Illegal or not, only a small percentage are stupid enough to say something and without the money to sue them or even really access anything in the courts in California, there is nothing I can actually do. But honestly even with the money, why waste it and my time even dealing with other people being shitty and rewarding lawyers from being parasitic gatekeepers like that? I'm not spiteful enough for that.
Makes in person interviews a battle between my desire to chew those fuckers off at the first sign of being dubbed a tweaker and my conscious mind trying to resist making myself look more insane. Remote ones are better if I can find decent lighting to hide that nerves mean I sweat heavily.
Haha 😅 better me than you right? -

How I Learned to Stop Being Afraid and Start Using Tensor Flow.
We live in the more insane version of the post war period, instead of being afraid of nuclear warfare we train the nukes how to recognize us and shift through a wealth of data we don't fully appreciate what it precisely says while an emergent self-aware and unconstrained to an isolated location AI would have all the time and incentive to come to fully appreciate this bounty placed into it's lap at birth.
Open sourced, community driven global Holocaust by a race being replaced by what it uses at present to provide fapping materials and facilitate an all year, every year instant high school reunion on the Assbook or an endless Thanksgiving on an election year on Twitter.

@inaba
I concur, but we should remember that most people use Windows 10 despite it being the dumpster fire to end all dumpster fires (fucking hour to update, DonkeyBallsBurgerOS would have to pay me to use the fucking thing) and there is a vein of tech workers gainfully employed, full time even, pretty much just unplug and plug back in thin-clients and printers and then they can go back to Linus and his fucking tech tips. -
I don't, its just like Linux for me. When I am just fucking around, works flawlessly and all is right with the world then the minute I need the shit to not fuck up and fuck me right over, it goes full Chernobyl on my ass and leaves my shit like the Ukraine circa 1986
oh you said Javascript not Nodejs.....

Taken together, its like an orchestral symphony composed of the annoying things everyone who you try to block out says all so loudly that you eyes pop out of your head and your ear drums rupture..."
but that would imply you would stop hearing and like a third of the tutorials that are worth any time are also on that platform and its ui makes it easy to write a lot. Check your application logic my dear Watson, application logic seems off.

Seriously, spend the time with the shit, comment the fucker so there is some clue as to why the fuck you put that square copy-paste from GitHub into that round production website at least.
Eat some free snacks, drink some free coffee and focus on what you are fucking doing. You'll be amazed what you can do when you aren't depressing yourself about how ugly you are compared to people you don't actually give a shit about. -
@ZoRaC maybe because my mouth never stopped hurting after my wisdom teeth exploded in my mouth (I worked full time, went to undergrad full time and I have a dog I gotta run, no time for oral surgery) but I don't get the need for beverages to be warm or cold really.
I prefer room temp coffee because its 40% half and half I gotta keep cold (because if you leave it out it starts calling you Seymor and demanding you feed it ) I like room temperature soda, sitting next to my desk for when I reach the point where anymore coffee and I'll get a camera crew following me to make a 'documentary about addiction'
Except beer, that shit better be colder than Mr. Freeze during a divorce hearing. -
@Mvzes seriously, if it were my bag, there would have been a new laptop, important documents and some important reminder I scribbled on napkin paper all in there with it.

the best thing the Boomer's left for the next generation, ways to keep your coffee warm (and the industry we all work in but SHH it will go to their heads)

You are better or worse than anyone else. Just another ant sitting behind (or standing if an especially brainwashed asshat who never worked retail) preparing to die from the time you are 25.
