Xiaomi is demanding to sign in to an account to enable "Install via USB". It has to be enabled, otherwise it prevents the app under development to be installed, either via USB, or wireless.

Thank you, temp-mail for existing, and fuck off, Xiaomi. I should have bought another Samsung instead, but I didn't know any better.

Yes, I remember also having to create a Xiaomi account to unlock the bootloader

I would only buy a xiaomi product that doesn't connect to the Internet or I can flash my own firmware to.

Samsung is even more restrictive regarding modding/development
I bought a Xiaomi only because of its hardware/price and installed a custom ROM + rooted asap

Yeah, Xiaomi forces you to wait something like a month before allowing you to unlock the bootloader too :)

Just get a Pixel and flash whatever you want on it.

I check the bugmenot website for shared credentials first. I also share my throwaway credentials there.

@lastNick isn't that dangerous? My last two phones are xiaomi, and as long as I know, signing in activates 'find my device' feature. Which means anyone who's also using that throw away account can track you easily. I am using Infinix now. And yeah, it has a proprietary account system too. :-D
