I DROPPED MY HARD DRIVE ENCLOSURE WITH MY ONLY BACKUP ON IT ONTO BRICK AND NOW IT MOUNTS.

WHAT THE HELL IS HAPPENING

    Backup inmidieatly, that stuff is usually just a temp fix

    @legionfrontier yeah I have very few drives and these two are from eBay so....

    I need better drives

    Isn’t that what kills drives tho? Like one fails and the other dies because of the sudden spike in disk activity/movement of the head?

    Expected typo. But experienced a miracle. And he said let there be data. And there was and it was good but temporary

    So...you dropped a brick on a brick? They must have canceled each other out, lol.

    Actually it really depends if they were active or not. I assume that the HDD was not powered at the time of dropping so the risk of critical damage was reduced. @DeveloperACE Still you were lucky.

    I knocked it off the table by tripping on the power cord so it depends when the cord came out and how long it took them to power down after that

    I don’t think the drives were powered but probably were still spinning when it hit.... yeah
