Compiling QT from source literally takes hours on a i7 6700...

    Bet it wouldn't on my Ryzen 7 with 8 cores and 16 threads >=)
    But in all seriousness that's pretty intense.

    Remember to use:
    make -j8 Or make -j9
    (depends on your philosophical inclinations)

    I thought I had to do j-17 because it was thread based. I vaguely remember setting that up. Shrug

    If you're compiling the full package, of course

    I tried compiling it on my 4x2.3GHz CPU

    Build failed after ~5h...

    Nothing compared to Gentoo stage 1 dist-cc (10mBit/s) compilation time on two rusty Pentium II.

    However, good progress. I recommend one booze each obj-file. Does not help on time, but you might stop caring. Cheers.
