Is it advisable to add an admin page to your website so you can easily make changes like updating images etc. Or should I not bother and just modify the code whenever I want to change something?

Depends on scale and reqs.
You could probably make some scripts to do it over ssh or something like that. Still keeping it quick but without creating another attack vector.

If it's just for your average joe's blog go ahead though.
