Tried mx 17 linux today. Was completely blown away by how fucking good the system is. I am really tempted to nuke my windows installation in one of my computers and just run this baby from it. Nothing is really holding me back from it. I already have two other macs and another ubuntu laptop. Can think of a reason why i would need windows at this time but i am still hesitant.

Plus...i am taking on a big rails project.....might be good to have this thing set up for it as are the other two macs. Mmmmmhmm decissions decissions.

What do y'all think? Yes or nah?

If you don't use the PC for gaming I see no real reason not to install Linux so... Go for it!

You could dual boot, then its there if you ever need it.

I find it can be helpful to have at least two OS's on one PC, so if one OS plays up, you can check to see if its more likely a software issue, or a hardware issue.

Eg. if your mouse stops working in both OS's, then its probably hardware. :-)

And sometimes, you want to use an application/game, that only works in Windows on real hardware. :-)

@Xenoth you are definitely right man. I really don't use it for gaming at all. Currently looking into either giving mx 17 a go for development or bite the bullet and just go mint or plain good ol debian.

What is it about? Website is pretty vague. Haven't heard about it until now.
