Want to start a open source project, but don't know what to start with. Specially don't know how to involve people or share the idea. Any help?

@bashleigh mostly Python. It will be basically a server side project.

For an open source project I worked on I started by making a git repo, pushing stuff to it and deploying it to some hosting. Some friends got involved by giving feedback and I posted about the project on some forums. Got users but no contributors.
