    Windows 98SE is one oft my all time favourites! Sadly it has so many holes that you can't use it anymore (I tried once in a VM years ago, as soon as it had an internet connection netsent windows popped up).

    That's what I always meant to do, must have a practical knowledge of what you study

    @ThatBoringGuy I have quite a lot of friends from India and I think you're exaggerating the situation. None of them ever complained about using arcane software or OSs. Feel sorry for you and your university though.

    Well I'm not a univ student, Still in the command
    $ apt-get upgrade
    From High School, I'd rather say "Fuck Textbooks" when you can learn stuff elsewhere.

    Graduated from an Indian university. The book might have the image of Win 98. Possibly, the OP had an older edition of the book. From the looks of it, it's a book about Software designing fundamentals? How often do you expect a book like that to be updated.

    4 years back we had windows 7 running in all computers in the lab. Free hand to install linux if we were tired of Windows.

    And rarely anyone uses University systems. Bring your own laptop and get shit done!

    @badcoder once in 10 years would suffice? I mean at least, at the very worst case, win xp?

    @Daveloper I would agree with you if it was an ideal world. Sales of the current version of the book might not outweigh the cost of producing one with latest content just for the sake of showing latest UML tooling. Then again, i don't know anything about economics.
