Oh come on..
It is like a lifeline.. so many times it has helped me with solutions in seconds.. -
Its a strict lifeline... you can take info from that site, give info to that site, but if you want to discuss, then nope, you aren't worth discussing if you don't have 5-10 answers with 10+ points.
Sometimes people are not sure of their solution, but still want to contribute, and get attention of the main author..
But nah.. this isn't acceptable by SO
@PhpForever -
Would someone looking for a solution want to read discussions??
There are loads of other websites to discuss.. -
This is why you need a rep >=50 to comment on posts you don't own: https://meta.stackexchange.com/a/...
TL;DR? "the downsides of allowing everyone to comment are far greater than a few useful comments lost” -
py2js27657ySuppose if we allow everyone to comment then people will spam and lots of good comments will be in the pile of garbage. Minimum reputation is just a plan to keep the site knowledgeable

Sometimes am really pissed off with stack overflow, it won't let you comment if you have less points.
Its like yeah, you can make an answer with every stupid shit possible but no, you can't comment or get any good author's attention, he might be meditating -_-
