What kinda music do devs usually listen to while working? My friends (devs) say I'm weird.

Idk, but I listen to slow melodious songs. Am I upsetting the order of things and breaking unspoken, universal laws by listening to Birdy or Ed Sheeran while coding!

I kinda listen to anything, from techno to medievial, from heavy metal to orchestra... the only thing i cant listen to is the bullshit that's on the radio nowadays, after some time all of it sounds the same.

Atm i'm listening to epic viking music.

I’m weird. Most devs I know prefer silence or calm music.

I love nothing more than rocking out to some psytrance (infected mushroom is good).

Good beat. Keeps my typing speed up, enough little melody surprises to keep me happy and it’s largely just beats so it fades and lets me concentrate on the code.

I can also fall asleep to it, but not music with lyrics. So I’m probably not typical 😂

I listen to hip hop and some other songs out of random genres but still mainly hip hop

@RubyTuesday I find a bit of Lindsay Stirling goes down a treat.

Personally, I go with like broken bells or something. Maybe the killers, maybe glass animals. Something I can flip between while coding to satisfy the ADHD demon I have a pact with my head 😁

When I am trying to solve a problem or think up of a good solution - classical piano/guitar

Other times - metal.

Youtube has a couple of minimal techno radio streams. Just enough for background noise but doesn't distract.

I put my headphones on and forget to play music before the day ends... More often than I listen to music. But if I can then techno, trance etc.

LOFI is the best for me. It's extremely relaxing and doesn't distract at all.

Hmm i mostly listen to some great metal, psytrance or Lofi/chill music while programming.

Honestly, I can listen to anything as it just fades out into the background as I'm usually too focused.

Oh, except rap music. Too many words...

Depending on the task: Death Metal (Deathcore in particular), Downtempo, or some Rush is usually a good go-to for me
