SQL server is one of the good things out there. At least it's SQL, and it's fast, unlike MySQL which isn't SQL, but shit, and should be called MyShit instead.

@AndSoWeCode ya I like sql server on many levels, the spaces in column names just annoy me. And having to code around it yday really annoyed me! Oh well I feel better after ranting tho.

@allthingsinmod I have worked with MySQL and PostgreSQL databases that had spaces (and not only spaces) in column names. It has nothing to do with any particular RDBMS.

@AndSoWeCode it’s not only sql server, ss is just where I spend most my time these days. I just find the spaces annoying. If it’s a friendly human readable thing, that’s the task of the developer surfacing the data. If it’s making column names more readable for business users using sql, well they are using sql...and shouldn’t give a damn about fluffy column names. Percent _Off or PCT_OFF is every bit as readable as [% Off] in my opinion. But, it’s a small thing. We have more pressing issues like tabs/spaces to consider, lol. I guess the main thing that annoys me is the mixed use of spaces and no_spaces in all our dbs but that’s on us
[% off]
^fuck you sql server.
