Diversity Support Tickets EVERY-FUCKING-WHERE
Because if you happen to be born a woman or you like men (or women or both or none - its up to you) you'll get that €399 ticket for free. Seriously? From when white straight man can afford to pay for the conference but a different skin, gender or sexual orientation cannot?
No hate - you do you, but from my perspective as a woman, I feel this is kind of unfair to all my male fellas out there.

Yeah, I did not mention them, because I fully support people with disabilities and low income (e.g. talanted students).
But if you want to stop treating women and LGBTQ differently then just don't

Well, now i know how to attend that conference for free. I'll just pretend to be gay and if someone doesn't believe me i call them homophobic.
The world has become completely crazy...

Heck, maybe women, LGBTs, blacks, etc. have it rougher in the it industry, some more and some less. And surprise, there are straight white men who have a rough life too.
Giving minorities free tickets is like saying "we know you can't make it without help. And when it comes to men, we don't care because nobody will praise us for helping them.". Imo the poor and disabled should still be able to get free tickets (they work hard too). And when it comes to minorities, give them a small discount (~$20-$40) or a gimmick, practically saying "we know you don't have it as easy as other people, so here you have something to brighten your day".

    I love the whole “I can’t be racist / sexist / heterophobic because it’s x + power” copout.

I’ll agree that it’s important these classes of people are brought into the fold and welcomed a touch more sometimes, but are conferences really offering cheaper tickets based on these traits?

    That’s fucked up.

Side note. When I was at uni, there was an amazing internship programme I was interested in, I wasn’t allowed to join it because it was only open to black students.

As a cisgender white homosexual male this triggered me to the ends of the earth.

I was shooketh to my foundations.
