So i was looking around for a VPN service. Ppl here seem to like Mullvad. I was looking at Mullvad NordVPN and PIA . I dont know a lot about NordVPN but PIA seems to be going opensource with theyr clients which i think is great. So can anyone say anything about the VPN services above. Good and bad stuff woul be appreciated!

If I'm not wrong, PIA is in UK, and I think its not a good idea to have your VPN in an 5-Eyes-Country.
    My favorite VPN-provider is ProtonVPN.
Its based in Switzerland and belongs to ProtonMail.
They are trustworthy, have good performance and pretty interesting features like multi-hop-vpn.

I'm happy with NordVPN. It's fast enough, has many servers, and is about €2.75/mo if you sign up for 3 years. Also it's based in Panama.

But it's the only service I've used, so I can't really compare.

@CodeNoir i saw that but 3 years seems a lot tbh. Id go with max a year. Since every provider that seemed good could go down or be hacked whatever right. So id wana know more bevore

@Kubernatural yeah, I generally agree. I fell for the trick with the small price differences between the options. Like with popcorn in cinemas :)

@CodeNoir I like mullvad a lot for their cash payment option and they literally don't ask for ANY information.

@Kubernatural Hello there fellow Tutanota user :D

@Kubernatural Only nordvpn requires an email address and you can't pay with cash ☹️

@linuxxx Im probs gonna settle for muvad now. But since ure also using turanota. How do u deal with not having a local emaill client on ure pc. It bufs me a lot. Dont wana have the browser open just to get notified thst i got an email. O guess the android app could do but id still prefer a client in on my pc

@Kubernatural I don't get android notifs since I block all Google services from my phone through a root firewall.

I just use it in the browser, prefer that anyways :)
