Me: I use Git!

Classmates: what's that? A Softdrink?

Me: Nevermind. Just Copy the source code on gooogle drive.

Classmates: Thanks!

Me: -_-

Why do you share the source anyway

@Clueless Is it the source to something they should do themselves or not?
  • 3
Probably. If only they knew what language I used.

I say Javascript and they say

    "JAVA"...

    We're related!
  • 3
    @CluelessBanana Well, yeah. M8!
  • 3
@Clueless OH GOD, my eyes, why?! You should slap them one by one... JAVA ≠ JS 😠
  • 4
btw I usually say ECMAScript because it was a fucking dumb idea to name the implementation JavaScript, they just hoped that by stealing a part of popular language's name it would become more successful - and they created this mess instead 😡

    Me: Just use git!

    Mac User: What's that?

Me: It's an open source co-developing tool.

Mac User: Ew I'm not using that, open source stuff is dangerous...

(Genuine conversation with a co worker a while ago)

@D3add3d I think that slapping would be taking it too lightly, an acid bath might do. (^^)

I wish it was a soft drink! I would make it my official drink.

@Clueless JavaScript needs a new name.

    @Clueless https://stackoverflow.com/questions...

    Interesting read.

Java is to JavaScript as Car is to Carpet.

OMG! Only a student!? And using Git!? And the classmates are ignorant!? Wow. You're really special! Now, tell the story of how you made your first exploit in C at the age of 10!

@FuzzBang Do they use anything that is open source like a code editor (atom, VSCode) or something similar?
  • 1
@deusprogrammer you know, they would stick to VB.net and Java as their primary language.

Oh and yeah, good article there. Gonna read it later

@telephantasm Im not a kid. I'm a graduating student in my college

So I already started git 2 years ago and left the project unmaintained. Oh and at that time, i don't have internet connection so I occasionally visit any repositories im watching

@telephantasm I don't like you, go back to SO or wherever you came from 😒

@D3add3d It's OK, I don't like myself much either. But, I've no idea why you had the urge to tell me so.

Same case, participated in one big hackathon and others shared their code by sending message through Slack message with me. Yes by message.
I still get nightmares of those event.

@shashank-sharma Wow! At my first hackathon, I had to make sure my team knew how to use git and GitHub. One of our team members didn’t know too much about GitHub so another team member gave him a small lesson on using it. It turned out great.

This hurts me to think about.

@Clueless If it's an assignment, don't share, unless you know that the person you're sharing it with knows how to do it/has done it and just wants to compare.
  • 0
@filthyranter If it was for my group project, then why not? It was a task for me to do so and I am gonna share it in case they want to learn it.

    I agree, enlighten the bsdtards.
