GhostDev8807y@thevariableman I have never heard that idiom before, and it's quite applicable and gives quite some insight...
"The story is used to teach the wisdom of evaluating a plan not only on how desirable the outcome would be, but also on how it can be executed. It provides a moral lesson about the fundamental difference between ideas and their feasibility, and how this affects the value of a given plan." -Wikipedia -
dr-ant13447y@thevariableman I have known this and now I have rediscovered it. It applies so well to all my days lately. I'm soon going to be an outcast. 😅

dr-ant13447y@GhostDev you're right on point.
I'm wondering what made you realize it.
Also, you never updated us on the note taking thing. -
GhostDev8807y@thevariableman I actually think I should consider framing it and putting it on my desk =P
-
dr-ant13447y@GhostDev the frame's a nice idea and of course I want an update! (not in a demanding manager way but in a curious fellow dev way)
-
GhostDev8807y@dr-ant well... i am permitted to make notes now... which is nice... but I might have just replaced one problem with another.... I don't wanna go into it too much, at least not until I have it properly figured out in my own mind...😓

@GhostDev or get print a t shirt so that the whole office comes to know you are a sarcastic badass. 🤔🤔🤔
A morbid realization (I am just wasting your time keep scrolling)
Unless someone takes a stand for the user, and their comfort and requirements, unless someone looks a client straight in the eye and says "no, I will not do that, and neither will my team" and denies them their request, nothing will change, good devs will keep losing their spark to save themselves frustration, good people will walk away and the tyranny that we face daily grows... unless someone stands up, someone who cannot be knocked down, or reprimanded and told they're wrong for fighting for what's right.. unless someone stands up for what is right and fair... nothing changes... and nothing ever will... poor programs, bad games and content, lower standards, frustrated users, annoyance that you don't matter as a user or a dev will never go away... unless someone says enough. But no one will, money is the boss, morality a liability, and people an abundant resource. This world is backwards, devs are carrying the blame and no one who is able, cares enough to say "that's enough!".
