I have been lucky, i still understand my code from last year (mainly bacause of comments) whenever I need to change something and I need to analyze a part that was obvios to me back then I add a new comment explaining it.

It is all about documenting your state of mind and the logic behing what you did back then.

When you come back to it you may have a better way fo doing it and that is ok, your mind changes, uour skill changes, your code changes, it is only natural.

I still understand most of my TI Basic code from years ago when I started programming. And comments don't really exist in that language, you can just assign a string to the ANS variable. But I guess my mind doesn't change too much in some regards. I'm sometimes in the situation that I watch a video I have previously watched, scroll down to write a comment and find that exact comment already there.
