I hate making GUI stuff. Can't people use console instead of GUI as good old times? I've made the whole program for console in Java. Was using it for myself but now I'm thinking of selling it but I have to make a GUI for it first but learning JavaFX is so hella boring.

Not everyone is a developer. Most of the people care for a GUI, grow up, you are making for users not the devs

The history of the popularity of computers is positive "after" the GUI took off and permitted more nontechnical people to be comfortable about computers.

I'm with you, my boss saw me using the cmd to run a Python script I made which turned hours of manual clicking and typing into 6 number based answers to questions. He wanted me to share it with the office, no problem, shared. Entire office bitches that it doesn't have an "easy" way to use it and refuses to use it. This would be totally fine by me except he demanded I build a gui for it, at the time I had never built a gui for anything and didn't have the slightest clue where to start.

12 hours of Tkinter tutorials and doc reading later I had something which turned typing a single digits number into selecting a button in a window. Not exactly a huge improvement in my book.
