Just a theory...
Since iTunes can connect to iPhones, it must use some api for that, but that same api can be common with Xcode since that same functionality is available in Xcode ( it connects with iPhone for another reason though ) -
@Electrux @danzig666 most probably but still why depending on each other, unless it is easier to update iTunes for example when fixing connectivity issue rather than updating XCode but in the end, to be able to connect to latest iOS we need latest update of XCode so I still don't understand the relation

@gitpush I’ll just say... it’s Apple! They are known to tightly couple the most unrelated stuff for seemingly no reason 😅😂

I never understood why updating iTunes prevents Xcode from running?
Why Xcode needs to be closed to update a music player? Do both rely on same files for reading connected devices?
