Anyone understands what the motivation is for refusing to read a screen barcode as a Greyhound ticket?

Maybe the scanner doesn't work with screens. Many scanners emit a red laser light and work with the reflections, which are red for the white paper part and missing for the black one.

Now how would that work out for a screen?

@Fast-Nop I have seen scanners that works with screens (e.g. airport, movies). Probably the receptor is sensitive to most of visible light, and works off of the differential brightness, and the screen just acts as its own light source.

Some people post their booking reservations on social media which means people could take the barcode themselves? Then again the booking would have all your passport info etc on it so... idk
