Why should they ? Microsoft is even implementing the GDPR in the entire world, why would they "change" the privacy policy in a negative way.
-
as far as I know, GitHub will remain the same, much like linkedin did, what changed there was LinkedIn's integration within Bing, Bing's stock input's inclusion within LI's company pages
If GH is taken over, it'll stay untouched, with its excellence ported into Visual Studio Team Services for the enterprise.
As far as privacy is concerned, it still has a lot better track record than google so I wont be worried about that. -
@fuck2code No that's not how the GDPR works. If the service also runs without the trackers you can't block access if you don't consent,
-
@fuck2code Microsoft isn't doing that on their services (Yes Windows sends data, but the lowest consent level is with anonymization and only with necessary information)
-
@fuck2code since when is GitHub a privacy focused company. You do know they already have both Google and Facebook tracking installed right?

Thanks, but I already posted it in a new rant.
(Was probably the first one on devRant hehe) -
gitlog57647yI'm here trying to tell that this is offical...
BTW this blog is full of random shit to convey that merger is great for the community
Because everyone else is ranting about this too:
I'm not afraid of Microsoft wanting to monetize everything or that they will restrict site access to Microsoft Edge only. What I am afraid of is that they change the privacy policy.
Who knows what they are up to?
I hope GitHub is awesome enough to decline the offer.... Let's see.
