Lend me your wisdom o wise ones!
I'm tired of windows updates and im tired of it eating my background resources on my low end convertible(atom, 2gigs ram).
The only reason i'm still on windows is the touch support. Haven't yet found a distro where everything just works. Anyone here using a touch screen with linux?

Edit: I've tried hacking away with drivers and shit but feeble touch support just doesn't help as i primarily use it as a tablet

Manjaro KDE has touch support. But I can't confirm if it works

I was 16.04 Ubuntu for a while which seemed to support everything
Touchpad was funny think its also a hardware issue though, but touch support worked etc

Ubuntu works partially for me, but i have no luck with gnome apps. Fling gesture aren't just there. Pinch gestures are painful.
So far nomad desktop based on plasma kde has given the best results, but i'm unable to install it :(
Ill try deepin soon and report.

Or you could just set it to notify you and ask permission before downloading updates. It’s either a simple GP tweak or a registry key depending on if you’re running Pro or Home. Not that hard. By all means switch if you want but don’t let something trivial be the source of the abandoning.

@yatanvesh juat a suggestion but could have a look at ubuntu mobile.
    Could be atrocious idk 😂
Could be worth a shot though if you are looking for decent gesture support.

    So here's the thing
I can't let it update. It has 32 gigs emmc and even a single update absolutely eats so much away.
And there are other background stuff too, on a low end device, u tend to notice. I don't hate windows, but this is unacceptable here. @GMR516

Isn't that for android devices? This one uses uefi firmware @skrublord

Shit i forgot to mention i've tried reg hacks, some apps like ultimate windows tweaker and stuff like setting metered connection all that.. It stops the update but somehow...somehow this sucker manages to download some shit and eats away at the lil memory i have. I.have.given.up @GMR516

I'm using Fedora 27 on my Asus N Series laptop which has a touchscreen. It seems to work pretty well, I have not run into any issues with it.

Update: deepin works really well with low end devices. With desktop effects turned off it takes about 700mb ram and its usable out of the box. Pretty decent touch support here

Sad to say, but i think windows wins the tablet master race
