Probably unpopular opinion: I actually don't have a problem with Microsoft buying GitHub. Judging by how Mixer (a Twitch competitor) turned out aftet they bought that, I don't think there will be any problems

    If anything, the surge of people jumping ship will force them to do something great to keep their users. Just a flurry of improvements that couldn't be bad in any way. They are on a knifes edge right now. They wouldn't possibly ruin anything.

    @SpectralKH they decide that no "free account" should need more than, lets 10 repos. After that it's only 8$ a month. Or worse. $0.99/repo that's my worst fear. Or killing atom. Or "improving" atom until it's too large and slow to open.

    @deadPix3l I doubt any of those things will happen in the next few years. And iirc, they've stated that Atom will remain untoutched
