I fucking hate Windows... Yes I know it's beating a dead horse, but bear with me for a second here:

I really didnt mind it before, but I fucked up majorly on my dual-booted PC yesterday (dont fuck around with systemd if you don't know what you're doing) and needed to reinstall both Linux and Windows. Linux still has some hardware problems (second screen's not being detected), but else everything's just dandy.
But Windows... Holy motherfucking horse-cum drenched piece of goddamn trash! Shit wont listen to me!! I can click in that retarded settings app whatever I want and it still merrily keeps doing whatever the hell it wants πŸ™„πŸ™„ Why exactly do I still put up with that?!

(It's gaming)

I love Windows 10 on my MacBook. Best computer I've ever owned.

Honestly I can't remember the last time I had any problems with Windows. (At least during the Windows 10 era.) Everyone always tells me Linux is better and I've tried a few distros but every time I do, there are problems. Is there any super amazing distro that: (1) doesn't require a ton of user input to setup, (2) doesn't look/ feel old AF, (3) doesn't have a laggy UI, (4) doesn't require a ton of fuckary to get (most) AAA games running on it (with semi respectable framerates), (5) doesn't come with a bunch of bloatware?

@hexc I dont know about gaming, but for everything else, maybe try Manjaro or Debian. Manjaro has newer packages but therefore also more prone for bugs, whereas Debian is more stable but has older packages

I know there's some people who are going to beat me up for saying that but ... I've been using a MacBook Pro since 2014 and never had any problems with it. (1) I don't play games (so not a problem for me)
    (2) for the back end stuff I do, it's so fucking good to have a shell you can use whenever you need
    (3) need to ssh to server ? No problem, just ssh. Don't need to play with putty.
    (4) really need Linux ? Just use a docker container.
    (5) I never had any problem updating it, never had to reinstall
    (6) development, why would that be a problem ? (I know devlopping C# on Mac is shit)

I can understand the hate some people have for Apple but you can't deny there's some good things about it

@AdrienNini Yeah, Mac seems to be a good middle way between the Linux feel of Linux and the supported mainstream software and productivity of Windows. When I'm done with uni, my next laptop might be a MBP too.

The only things putting me off are
    1) The price. You still pay more than the hardware is worth, in my opinion
    2) The ports. I don't want to carry three dongles with me at all times to work productively. And I NEED my USB ports
    3) The CPU. Apple announced they'll start equipping their hardware with their own CPUs based on ARM in 2020. That can go both ways.

    @gathurian I have a 2014 Macbook Pro, so I have 3 USB 3.0 ports, 2 mini-displayport and sd card slot.
I have to agree on the price, mine cost me 1329€, I worked during one month in a restaurant to buy it.
When I bought it I was starting video making studies, so for all the video and photo editing stuff it was perfect. And since I started coding it always worked well and never had problem. Example, If I want to test something for a website quickly I can just start a web server (python or other) and now with the docker containers it's even simpler
