I think an awesome ex airplane mechanic going by the name Bitwise deleted his account. 😕

If you're still out there and reading this, I hope you're OK. Thanks for all the amazing crazy rants and stories... I hope you'll be back.

Did he leave because of the escort thing he posted? That sucks. Let's hope he's okay.

    Farewell, dear ranter.

I lost some ++ but I see it as a sacrifice for you.

Dude I just had a great talk with the guy a few days go. We spoke about his wife's recovery and we had a genuine rant!! Hope his well.

    Oh no ☹
    I actually kinda liked him.

    Blahh

That's a shame. He was one of the most original guys on the platform, and it was interesting reading him.

@TheOct0 How would you verify him?

@finiteAutomaton I'm not 100% sure at the moment but some people here know him IRL. I'd check against them, and if there's a doubt I'd have another way. I don't intend to play gatekeepers for the username, just to keep it safe while he's away.

Sad to see him go. Hopefully he also comes back, just pulling off a @Condor or a @jAsE... Whatever happened to you Bitwise, you'll be missed here. Hope you'll be well.

@dfox Is it feasible to just hand an account to someone (i.e. letting them set the email address and password again) or would I have to delete the placeholder I created to let him use the username for himself?

@TheOct0 for @rEaL-jAsE I ended up giving him the password by email and when he started the account recovery process I relayed the recovery email to him. A bit tedious but it allowed the account to remain occupied at all times.
