Lol I still use Windows 3.1 in 2018 for communicating with some instruments in the lab

@Gaveuxifort i know that this is true cause our REM is controlled by a 3.1 PC that connects (by serial i think) to a Win98 PC that supports USB 1.0 (Or 1.1?)
but if the 3.1 PC dies its probably ded for good and we dont need the floppy anyway -

Just did a bit of googling, yeah you're right...it was for resolving comfortability issues...the reason why I thought it was to speed up the CPU was because certain softwares couldn't run without turbo mode on...good to know! -
@Gaveuxifort you mean @xzvf i only know the turbo buttons that upped voltage by a little and that they were later only for show cause people knew them from the few times the actually existed
