I'm giving a presentation on different text editors on Friday to the class I'm helping teach. I'm excited it's the beginning of the year and they're new our world and I get to show them and review 5 editors.

If you're curious the the 5 editors are
Notepad++
Sublime Text 3
VS Code
Atom
Brackets

No IDE they have no need for an IDE yet.

    @hube well if they are developers they probably should know how to edit a file on Linux. Regardless of their preferred development environment and/or OS

    @fuckwit @hasu theyre new to all of this and none of them use any form of a terminal let alone know what it is. were just introducing them to a few popular gui editors and letting them go from there. plus even if I wanted to introduce them to vim I couldnt theyre school computers disabled powershell and cmd

    @Bubbles yeah, me too. It's so fast compared to atom and VS Code. Sublime is also so much faster.
