especially since I wasn’t allowed to tell some of the users why... the “blank screen” was normal, and that’s all I could say.
Some users I just explained “yeah it’s still downloading...”
It was painful.

“3mb JavaScript over dialup” - Before I knew how to write proper JavaScript I once wrote a calendar scheduling app in php that generated all of the functions for all of the buttons for all of the times for all of the days currently being displayed... the result was a 3mb JavaScript file... in the days of dial up modems...
