What paper are you trying to publish?
@devTea Promise you won't scoop me? 😉
@Mathtauathogen lol why would I, just give the topics you’re working on, I’m also going through master and I have to publish my current work
You know you need to sleep right? 😄
@devTea The GitHub repository name is Canalizing Depth Dynamics. You can find it if you want. It is based off of a previous paper by He and Macauley.
It's not much, I'm only a high schooler.
What's yours about?
Also, scooping me was a joke.
@TheyCallMeMJ I sleep more than my peers.
@devTea Do you read PHDComics? If not, here's a sample of their work:
@Mathtauathogen I’ll check it out 😁
I made a pull request
@ewpratten Rejected, your code is broken.
@Mathtauathogen it was missing a single char.
I would consider fixing it and making pull requests for the rest of the optimisations, but I don't like how you deal with changes.
@ewpratten This isn't OSS. It's for research. Also, we already have all our data, so no optimizations required. Even without code that creates incorrect output, I probably would've rejected it anyway for this specific repo.
Alright. Then you want to disable everything for that repo like issues and pull requests
@ewpratten Ok. Thanks for the tip.
I thought of a few more:
-Increase my GPA
-Increase the quality of my Github/Gitlab
-Start an OSS project
-Ask a professor to be my research advisor for the first time
-Learn how to have meaningful social interactions
-Compete in a Google Code In
@ewpratten Also, if I do need to generate more data, optimization doesn't matter that much as I have a 40 core server at my disposal pretty much 24/7.
-Publish a paper
-Get into one or more of the many camps I applied to
-Get a social life
-Start in open source
-Get to at least USACO Gold
-Improve my bots for various social media
-Stop using non-open source services as much as possible
-Contribute to devRant
-Do more exercise
-Get a hobby
-Start and actually finish a side project
-Get a job
-Start at least 2 more research projects and hopefully get quite a bit towards publishing a paper in each.
