Hello I'm thinking of starting gui programming using python could you guys recommend me some good books? I really like books that give exercises and some problems to solve at the end of each chapter like learning python the hard way by zedd shaw

HTML and CSS because browser instances will become so cheap down the line that there will be no point in learning anything else

@irene is why I say down the line. In reality the browsers can and have been stripped down to acceptable levels that can run a single JavaScript loop and DOM at an acceptable level of efficiency.

@irene yet a bunch of massively popular projects choose to go this route. Having to develop once for all platforms makes the memory usage an easy thing to ignore. Now that this type of project has a sizeable stake in the browser landscape, Google and others will feel pressure to slim down the runtimes.
