    At least where I live, you need a masters degree or at least 5 years of relevant work experience (yeah, I know) before being qualified for positions and certifications like CEH and CISM.

    @theuser my issue isn't certifications. My issue is knowledge. How do I learn.. where do I learn from? These are the questions that are pestering me.

    Can't personally recommend any books or courses, although for starters I recommend checking out Code Book by Simon Singh. It gives a somewhat technical insight in cryptography, but also a historical perspective.
