All of my css experience has been repressed by my mind in order to protect itself. The trouble is, everytime I start a new project I end up thinking, "this will be easy to layout, I'll just need a bit of css". Then there are a shitload of new traumatic memories to repress 😵😱

I hear ya. I really learned to do layouts in Foundation 5, and have learned how difficult some of that stuff really is to achieve when doing some scratch-build side projects.

Related: Foundation 6 sucks. But is now required for PCI compliance because 5 requires a deprecated jQuery version...
