I'm working on a laptop in the shop and Explorer crashes. I try restarting it, and get RPC endpoint call errors. On reboot, I get this.

Russian roulette but 3 will probably crash instead of 1.

    Pick the third one, if it doesn't work, pick the same one again.

    @Jilano what makes you so sure?
  • 4
    @Parzi because third one is three, three is 3, 3 + 4 is 7, 7 divided by 2 is 3.5, 3.5 rounded down is 3, omg half life 3 confirmed

    @devTea *runs away screaming and sipping tea*

    @Parzi "Well, haha! Isn't that obvious?! *Heavy sweating*" And to answer, no reason particularly. But knowing Microsoft, the entries light switch so, who knows at this point!

    @Jilano Ah, gotcha!

    @Parzi
    Because the last picked system is always first.

    Figured it out:

    Had to look for a file, so I popped Explorer. Saw the following:
    C:/
    -Windows
    -Windows.old
    -Windows.old.000
    -Windows.old.001
    -Windows.old.002
    -Windows.old.003

    All were fresh installs, according to their registry hives.
    Ran Disk Cleanup, freed up a cool 120GB.

    (Also, all the boot entries pointed to the main install, not the old ones.)
