one of my kids has a sleep problem, night terrors.

she wakes up in the middle of the night and just screams and says nonsensical shit.

we live in an apartment and our understanding old pieces of shit neighbors have complained already in the past.

no matter what you do, she'll increase the intensity every minute. you can hug, you can sing, you can ignore, you can try to soothe. She'll still screamcry.

We also have a 8 month old that obviously reacts by crying.

So imagine that, you're there, calmly sleeping, well into your deep sleep, and suddenly a symphony of pain and suffering visits you, and destroys your emotions in a couple of minutes.

I'm not even fully conscious to adjust. It just strikes me really hard.

I think it's a 6 in the scale of mental pain for me.

Anyhow, other people have a higher threshold, this is my experience.

I sympathize with your situation and wish the pain & suffering of your child leaves her 😔
But, for anyone to fully understand the problem and offer constructive advice, you should've also mentioned the approx. age of your girl 😐

Sorry to hear it man, i understand the suffering as my little son also did it once in a while, except we’re not living in an apartment. But still, hearing kids scream like hell at 2-3am in the morning is enough to paint a picture in the neighbours mind.

Now everybody thought im an abusive father coz the kids screams like they’re being tortured, i cant accept it at all coz there’s nothing happen actually. They just scream like the Exorcist, full of tears, everything you tried failed, becoz of..nothing? Not hurt, not anything. They just scream.

This emotion does affect me as a late nite coder too.. when it happened too often, it kills my momentum. Ended up i lost my coding passion again. Along the way, start looking for inspiration again.

And the cycles continues until...the kids grown up, i guess? This is part of parenting, rite.. yeah, FML!

Its called pavor nocturnus and its normal for small kids...some have this more often than others, but no reason to worrie. I'm father of a four year daughter and we also do have this from time to time. There is nothing much to do than just be calm and try to be calming to your kid

@Chubak please, stay off my posts, I've been seeing your attitude towards others on this site and I'm not interested in your bullshit.
