Root797776yI do until people stop caring and/or yell at me.
I can only care so much when everyone else is a raging dickballoon. -
2erXre524956yIf you do that in your free time I would have no problem with that, but I guess you aren't paid for that work, nor your clients are paying for it. So, to be honest, do only what you are paid for! Everything else is not professional in my opinion.

Synster6046y@2erXre I don't think of my work as doing just what I am paid for. I think we as engineers have lot of power to empower others, our small decision can make big difference to people using our products. So why not improve something if it can improve others life, I agree that we should do what we are paid at the end of the that's what we are there to do. But doing only that is very robotic and eliminates human element out of it. So not for me.

Synster6046y@rutee Me too, I have actually automated lot of mundane tasks at my job Improving productivity of my team and even got recognized for it.
Subtle joys of Dev life 😊 -
2erXre524956y@Synster I agree, sometimes things are necessary or obvious. But why not talk about that to your PO or team leader. They always should have an open mind for such input and you are not doing work behind their back and everybody will be happy in the end.
I love working on adhoc features that nobody is asking for but would greatly improve user experience rather than the actual jiras assigned to me, you guys do this or is it just me ?
