@SukMikeHok Lack of money or insurmountable debt?... the first one is not an issue at all.
The second however is life force crippling...

What are you studying if I may ask and how long will it take to finish your studies? Also is there a big diference in salary for people with or without a finished study?

I've been in a simila situation. Except, because of my retarded college, if I quit, I wouldn't be allowed to finish it later. And they wouldn't let me pause either.

So I dwelled in the bottomless pit of anxiety and depression until, years and $$$ later, I managed to finish it.

Mind you, I was first at the entrance exam, and was one of the best students, but the retarded system and everything fucked me up, so it took me many years longer, becoming a zombie and an average student.

I wish I could have quit and finished it later like you can. It would have saved my mental health and my pockets. I mean, if you have just 1 year, you could do it, but only you can judge if it's worth it.

@SukMikeHok For your tuition? I’m sure they see you trying but I somehow doubt they expected you to smash out payments while you’re trying to really focus on study..

@SukMikeHok so here what I would do.

First breath. Just take a deep breath.

Next go on a short "holiday". Get either your closest friends or go by your own. Doesn't have to be far. It can be just a walk up a mountain. Pack sone food and drinks. If you're with people tell them how you feel. What you are thinking. If you're on your own, do the same thing just with yourself. Tell yourself how you feel.

    Next think about your options.
    A) drop out and get a job (the easy way)
    B) finish your study in one year and then get a job (the toughest mentally as you'll need to get a clear head to be able to even finish your studies. Honestly if you choose this path, go and visit a psyciatrist.)
    C) finish your studies in maybe 2 instead of 1 year, but work part time on the side. (Hybrid aproach). You'll still finish your studies while already gaining work expirience and earning some money to live.

I personally would take the third approach, but I'm not you. You need to find the right fit for yourself.
    I hope this helps.

You bitch from a position of privilege, and I take issue with it. You need to shut the fuck up, stop feeling sorry for yourself and start being grateful for what you have. And if you can't start feeling grateful for what you have, then just shut the fuck up.

@bols59 Gratitude is definitely the key to almost everything 👌🏼

@M1sf3t Physics. Yeah, I couldn't continue later in the physics department of the university. This is in Croatia though, not the US. I could continue in another university in another city, but those are not first tier universities and don't carry the same weight. Relocating would also be an additional pain.

I was in a similar situation as Suk, was about 1.5 years away from finishing. But it turned into a multi-year nightmare. Once you stop, it's hard to start studying again, and you lose contact with people. I also worked for a while while studying, and it's pretty much impossible to study and work at the same time, especially with depression/anxiety.

Imo @SukMikeHok you should visit the uni's doctor, if you have one. Getting medical help for your state of mind should be a priority. It helped me, at least. Medication helped the most, but also the talking therapy, a bit.

Anyways, good luck! If you have any questions, @ me.
