My experience with SCRUM:

Everytime some say:
Lets try scrum.. couple weeks later dropping it.

Just use Jira instead, and meetings once a week.

I Never have seem (Official) Scrum working in a team for a long period.

I have worked in perfect scrum team for half of the year or so. It needs tweeks and works like a charm if everything is set up properly.

also currently working in "scrum" corporate edition team where there is only chaos, we have scope, deadline and endless meetings, shitload of them.

Worst thing ever! Never been so unproductive and unmotivated in my entire life!

SCRUM is too micromanagy and annoying. Kanban is better.

Worked in a company that actually did scrum pretty much exactly as it's written.

After the adjustment period (whoch involved many instances of scrum masters telling cXo's no) it worked beautifully.

Sprint velocity stayed pretty constant, we met our goals, plannings worked out, it was nice.

That was when I learned to appreciate the ability to just say no and stand by it, which I now see as one of the defining features of a professional. It's probably been the best time I had in my career.
