Starting a new job tomorrow as a junior Java developer. Let's hope this works out better than my last job which was supposedly also as a java dev but involved zero code writing

Writing software is not the whole job... there’s a lot of documentation in today’s world that must be written, and procedures, and manuals and all that bullshit.. due to lawsuits and government, and requirements it’s all essentially covering the company’s ass the documentation is there as prove you thought about what your typed and has a plan, and so the non software people can look at it and be like hmm looks fine to me...
I get it I hate it it too but blame society
