Is it just me or does it seem like everyone is "making their own game" but they mean they got opengl to render a triangle.

Since unity and unreal went free everyone and their mum is making their own game.

@lkjhgf253 Looking at the steam store I'd say calling them "games" is generous.

@stonestorm yeah.... Too many greenlit projects that get abandoned. Too many niche or gimmicky games that majority of people won't play actively. It feels like the game industry on all platforms is slowly dying due to lack of talent IMHO, mainly because the old hands that made great games i.e the classics in the past are either retired or deceased. Most new releases nowadays are boring or just plain bad, even the sequels to great series'. It's depressing tbh.
