I wouldn't take that offer....

If they just want someone familiar with working with it to do actual development, I wouldn't be shocked to see pure mess in that work place

Wordpress, 30% market share of websites. Kind of hard to ignore that demographic as a developer. Personally I like WP. I have created nice and simple websites for quite a few people with it. It is also fun to write plugins for as the API is fairly well laid out.
