i had to deliver roughly 250 gb of data. after two days he received it. on a hard drive. by parcel service.
sending it online it would have been done by the next but two weeks. what a brave new world. (still better that uruguay)

    We sometimes do the same at work.

    In Tanenbaums networking book is an exercise to estimate the bandwidth of a St. Bernard carrying floppy disks / tapes over a certain distance.

    It'll always be like that. If the amount of internet traffic increases, local storage will do the same.

    AWS even offers this service with their own trucks, having both power to run things as well as fibre optic connection to load the truck...
