So, I was asked to build something. Not a problem. The moment it was complete. "Actually we need it to do this instead". Not a problem. "Actually it's not needed, can we go back to the old way".

Contain this chain for several months with the exact same changes back and forth, back and forth. Each time its two days in cost and time. Meanwhile, it takes me seconds to revert and commit from a branch to do the changes.

I'll use the time to catch up of other things but...

MAKE UP YOUR FUCKING MIND ALREADY!

If you waste my time, I'm going to waste yours.

Sounds like a poor project management.. sorry. If you (or your boss) cannot understands the customer wishes/needs, that not a customer problem. Spend more times to exchange with customer. Good luck.

@Root Yeah, if you're contracted by the hour, not so much if that's not the case.

@Berkmann18 Think outside the box. Tell them the change takes a day (or two), and in the meantime work on freelance projects.

@Root That's a good point (re the side project) which I opted for while being on a placement dealing with similar situations.
My point was more on the line for those who are employees (i.e. not contracted).
