Figured I'd toss this out for any keyboard nerds here interested in the new lopro mechanical trend.

Kono store just restocked the hexgears x-1 keyboard in all switch types. and an upgraded battery. 👍🏻

    Ooh that looks pretty cool
Would you recommend this or the Ducky One 2 (mini, maybe)?

(Tbh I'm quite happy with my T420's keyboard, but eh)

They occupy different market spaces imo, aren't really comparable. The mini is a 60%, wired, full height. The x-1 is a condensed full-size with low profile mechanical switches, Bluetooth or wired, configurable rgb, and 1/3 the height of a mini.

Ducky boards are fine quality, but not really my jam. In a full height 60% I'm going to want fully programmable firmware (qmk+), or at least significant customizability. The keychron 2 is probably a better board than the mini for the money, and comes in aluminum.

Usually I build my own keyboards, it's a hobby. My faves tend to be either full plancks, ergodox, or 75% with aluminum or copper backplates that I soldering myself, sometimes custom PCB. Going to do a hotswappable switch soonish, I'm way behind on that setup.

Slightly expensive but looks good. Perhaps I'll buy one for using at home next time I get a bonus or something…

If you're looking to save a few clams and you don't care about bluetooth, the coolermaster SK630 has the same switches for ~15% less, depending on market.
