JetBrains for everything (mostly PyCharm and PhpStorm), it just works fore and it feels reliable.

    I started using jetbrains in my first semester of CS studies. My professor wanted us to use Eclipse, I opened it and it was (and still is) the biggest pile of shit I've ever seen.
    Then another student recommended Intellij to me and I loved it in an instant.

    @frogstair Its not slow on my machine, but if it is on yours, you can disable/limit caching and that speeds it up a lot. They also did a lot of work in the last updates to speed it up.
    Android Studio is an exception, but that is not Jetbrains fault iirc.
