    Programming is like being a YouTuber, if your main concern is money, you already lost.

    Moved from Germany to Switzerland 4 years ago. Now I can save more than my former salary before taxes.

    @sawmurai how's taxation in Switzerland?
  • 1
    I would say roughly half of what I would have been taxed back in Germany. Here, I get to keep roughly 80% ish? Something like that, maybe a bit less

    If you're in Seattle or Premier US, and you're not making decent money, time to move on.

    @010001111 Oh sorry i didnt know that programmers live on air and love to linux only. Didnt know that jobs ARENT ABOUT MONEY.

    @Gregozor2121 You’re probably also one of those guys who would accept gambling money from a Russian skin site.

    Yeah, go ahead, it’s easy money, right???

    @010001111 No, but i dont enjoy starving neither.

    @Gregozor2121 are you suggesting that you are not making enough money as a dev to feed yourself?
  • 1
    @CoolGuy I hate when people devalue their work "for higher reason". It allows those boses to pay us less and less. I was of course saying hyperbole. Im not starving.

    @SortOfTested I do get alot of money, but before that I was self employeed with even more money. I learn more at MS. Money isn't everything

    Thanks @KDSBest

    @Gregozor2121 Get your shit together and get paid what you are worth for your work. If they don’t pay you well, or less than you expect, just fucking leave. Money craving bosses isn’t a new thing.

    It’s depends on how much stocks you had some of my friends are swimming in it now a days 😝

    @sawmurai brooo !! 80% dude that’s awesome i am at 70% sometimes even less

    @KDSBest
    That doesn't invalidate what I said.

    Per the original question I single out MS because, unlike Google or Amazon (where I worked), they've gone deep in the low skill end of the Indian talent pool.

    @010001111 except if you're making pennies like me, if you were in my situation, you would understand.

    @SortOfTested @hardfault I agree with you both
