Brogrammer culture, people need to inflate themselves in comparison to others because they have internal worth issues, people are dicks, ML is often interpreted as Machine Learning for humor sake, people spend 5 minutes doing a hello world in JS and somehow that makes them "experienced", and its kinda funny.

To be honest HTML is kind of a stepping stone into a larger world. You usually start with HTML->CSS->JS or some combo. You really cannot do much with HTML on its own except to display data. It is learning a basic concept in programming: input data has effect on output of a program. This is a baby step when learning to program. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with HTML. So laugh it off, move on.

@rooter sure same as markdown or yaml, there are not programming languages

@elgringo Nobody really cares if it is or not.

@Demolishun the main issue is some folks care

@elgringo That makes taking the stance of not caring, or outright disagreeing that much more fun. ;-)

    Don’t take Reddit seriously.
The only thing it’s useful for is to learn what not to do. Seriously, they’re wrong so often it’s actually impressive.

    Ask a question.
    Read the results.
Do the opposite of the consensus.
    Profit!

    Works every time.
