    Speculations.

    It certainly looks that way, but there's still the time and the market share for Intel to make a comeback

    Despite Intel's crappy position at the moment, they have a lot of smart people working for them and a crapload of capital reserves - way more so than their competition.

    They've certainly screwed up royally, and it'll likely be a couple of years before they're truly competitive again, but I'm betting they'll be back. I certainly hope so - competition is only ever a good thing for the consumer.

    I'm an ex-Intel employee. I hope Intel will survive, just so all the crappy managers stay there and not ruin other companies....

    @NickyBones I've only heard rumours about intel, is it really that awful to work there?

    @LotsOfCaffeine Depends what you deem awful.

    @NickyBones worst I heard was a sort of "two class employee" system, distinguished with color
    The good ones were highly paid had all sorts of bonuses but the other ones were basically disposable to the managers

    @NickyBones I recall this youtube video, dunno how accurate it is though

    @LotsOfCaffeine The two classes of employees is true.

    @NickyBones Christ that sounds bad

    I mean we have third party contractors too here in Germany, but even they get a decent protection from our laws...

    nop.

    ARM is fun, but not at all ready for customers. Maybe Mac fan boys who never use any advanced sogtware.

    Gaming on arm Bitch please...

    @NoToJavaScript If Intel has to base their market on gamers, they will collapse.
    Intel depends on the server sales, but considering Nvidia also bought Mellanox recently they might be aiming for servers as well.
    There are several gaming computers with high performance that run with AMD, no need to game on ARM. Also all consoles of the 8th generation run on AMD.
