Am I the only one excited for the RTX 3000 series not because of gaming, but because of all those sweet, fast CUDA cores? Never mind framerates, that should make training those models way faster.

Nvidia is really the only player in the accelerated learning game. What I've seen on operational DGX A100's that some friends of mine are hosting in their data centers, everyone else is 10 years behind. 5 petaflops for measly $140k with as much as 94TB of nvme connected storage and 8x 200gbps ethernet.

tl;dr
Nvidia is now selling supercomputers at 1/35th the price of anyone else with commodity hardware.
