If we were talking - and then all of the sudden, I don’t talk to you anymore... it’s probably because you ignored my advice and chose to go to an especially bad boot camp. Now - that’s fine! But the reason I’m not talking to you is because I just don’t know how to say anything positive about your terrible decision and the terrible school... so - I’m just not saying anything at all.

Can't you just say something really bad and hurting instead. Signaling is important.

@Oktokolo last time someone said “I’m really concerned that this school is a sham...” - and I said - “Yes. Here is the empirical evidence” / they publicly flipped out and attacked me for ruining their dreams.

But I am aggressively honest in other channels.

Well, people are emotionally connected to their dreams. But it is still better to kill that dreams before they become bitter reality...

@Oktokolo I mean... I certainly think so. I've been pretty edgy about it... but it's only so long until I just go all in... https://youtu.be/QhegQSfolC0?t=76

    Wow that link is awesome:
Has an insanely long intro about Youtube's forced pre-/post-/mid-roll ads being bad (thanks captain obvious).
Goes on to ramble about how coding boot camps are shit...
Yes they are bad, but that isn't why he is doing the video. That guy makes his money by selling online courses. The coding boot camps he is rambling about, are his direct competition. That is the only reason for him talking about them.

I hate morally flexible people like that. They don't even lie. They just automatically align their believes and world view to what is best for their wallet.
They actually believe that their service is so much better than the competition because doing so makes it easier to sell it to all that naive people that would be way better off not wasting their time on any of them...

    haha.

It’s me! I’m the evil person trying to make all the money by educating people. And the thousands of hours of free tutoring and mentoring of all of these boot camp graduates: is my secret plan! I figure if I help people for free... oh wait...

Teachers, right!! They just want money and to educate people.

Now, maybe the context was too gray,

but I was showing you that video: as an example of something I made in a bad mood that was extreme - and when I pushed in that direction - I just came off as an asshole: much like you also viewed it!

    That’s why it’s not a public video.

    I agree with your thoughts.
