Dude that convinced me to come to company became the most toxic person ever after I got fed up of his lies and lame attempts to get me to do his job (so he could just get the merits). We don’t work on the same project but closely related. Every time we speak he tries to hurt me by trying to put me down/raising sensitive topics. But he gets rid of the history all the time, so I have nothing to handle to HR or manager. Time to jump the ship? Job is fine otherwise.

@rutee07 he deletes everything from slack, history won’t last more than a day

Do whatever satiates your mental health. And if moving away from the company is that, do it. May be confront him and tell the situation but if it doesn’t get better, give your mental health priority

You can try taking screenshots and showing them to HR. Even if the conversation itself isn't a fireable offense, regularly concealing evidence absolutely is.

If he's the only reason you would leave you might try to get rid of him instead, but there's no shame in distancing yourself from assholes by any means. If it doesn't work or you think raising the issue can put you in a worse position than leaving you should absolutely leave.

Whatever you do, keep saving screenshots of every interaction. If at least then gives you the option to go to HR or your boss if you decide to. If you never use them and jump ship then fine, but it makes sense to give yourself the option.
