RANT
JetBrains should be renamed in “Shit for brains”.

Actually no. Even the dump I take in the morning has more intelligence than ANY product of that “company”.

What a fucking waste of time…

It ain't perfect, but I've yet to find a better IDE than IntelliJ for Java dev.

@AlmondSauce I used ecilipse for sometime then I was able to get my hands on IDEA. It felt like it was a miracle. I remember the joy I felt that day. It was beautiful.

while IDEA was a revelation compared to eclipse, I don't like it very much for JS, PHP and other web development, due to its peculiarities, overcomplicated featuritis and smart-arse (un)helpful nudge dialogs

@hack I liked Eclipse and Netbeans back in the day, but for the last decade or so they've been increasingly unreliable piles of crap.

I do like IntelliJ and PyCharm a lot, they are awesome IDEs

I'm not a huge fan of CLion though, I feel more comfortable with vs code when it comes to C/C++

I never used any JetBrains IDE for web development though, so I can't speak to HTML/JS/CSS, PHP and the like

what was your bad experience OP? Did it crash? (that reminds me, they are pretty memory hungry, I couldn't work with it efficiently with anything below 16GB of RAM)
